Every listing here is a real business, and everything we say about it comes from the venue's own website. If their site doesn't say it, we don't claim it.
Where the facts come from
For each place we read the site — the visit page, the tours page, the FAQ — and record only what is stated there: whether there's a shop, whether tours run, whether dogs are welcome, whether the building is step-free. Each listing names the page it came from. Where a site was unreachable, the listing says so rather than guessing.
That cuts both ways. Timothy Taylor's is on the map flagged as closed to visitors, because their FAQ says plainly that they turn up unexpected callers away. Robinsons stopped tours in 2024. Five venues say dogs are guide-dogs-only. Those are as useful to know as the welcoming ones.
Pins, photographs and ratings
Pins are placed from the venue's own postcode, or at town level where none is published, and the listing says which. Photographs are openly licensed images credited to the photographer, or a drawn scene where no such photograph exists — never a photo lifted from the venue's site. Ratings and reviews come live from Google and are never stored here.
What we don't take
No venue pays to appear, to rank higher, or to have a bad review hidden. Listing is free and will stay free. If we ever take advertising it will be labelled as advertising on the page it appears.
Getting something changed
If you run one of these places, Manage your listing lets you correct anything we've got wrong. Changes to facilities get checked against your site, same as a new listing; wording goes up straight away. Anyone else can write to hello@wanderout.co.uk and we'll fix it.
